Vincent nemcsak a világ egyik legnépszerűbb művésze, hanem talán a leginkább félreértett is.
A film a londoni National Galleryvel szoros együttműködésben készült.
The award-winning and much-loved Exhibition on Screen series, which explores the lives of some of history’s most celebrated artists, presents Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers. The episode takes its title from the exhibition held at London’s National Gallery, which opened at the same time as the documentary’s release. Two hundred years after its founding and a century after acquiring its first Van Gogh painting, London’s National Gallery is hosting the largest exhibition of Van Gogh’s work ever held in the United Kingdom. Vincent is not only one of the world’s most popular artists, but perhaps also one of the most misunderstood. This film offers an opportunity to rediscover him and gain a deeper understanding of this iconic artist.
Focusing on Van Gogh’s unique creative process, the exhibition Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers explores the years he spent in the south of France, during which he revolutionised his artistic style. Everything he did in southern France served this new obsession. In part, it contributed to his infamous mental breakdown, but it never stifled his creativity — he continued to produce masterpieces! Discover one of the most defining periods in art history through this documentary about the exhibition of the century. The film was made in close collaboration with London’s National Gallery.
