ül ※ in Hungarian without subtitles Petrovics Eszter Kodály-filmtriló
giájának második része a zeneszerző\, zenetudós életének az I. vil
ágháborútól a Psalmus Hungaricus 1923-as bemutatásáig tartó idősza
kát dolgozza föl\, a remekművet állítva a középpontba. A sorozat el
ső részéhez hasonlóan a filmben a két főszereplő – Fekete Gábor
színművész és Radnóti Róza zeneakadémista\, akik ezúttal a Kodály
Zoltán Magyar Kórusiskola növendékeit alakítják – egymással és
különböző szakértőkkel zajló beszélgetéseiből\, valamint a filmb
en felcsendülő zeneművekből tárul fel Kodály életpályájának e ko
rszaka. A film végén\, az alkotás csúcspontjaként teljes egészében
 bemutatásra kerül a Psalmus Hungaricus hangversenytermi előadása\, a m
ű egykori ősbemutatójának helyszínén\, a Pesti Vigadóban. Az alkot
ás amellett\, hogy bemutatja a korszak kiemelkedő zeneműveit\, kitekint
Kodály irodalmi érzékenységére is: a magyar költészet felé fordul
ására\, saját publicisztikai munkáira és Móricz Zsigmonddal való ka
pcsolatára\, szellemi és valós találkozásaikra. A filmben feltárul a
The s
econd part of Eszter Petrovics’s Kodály film trilogy covers the period
of the composer and musicologist’s life from the First World War up to t
he 1923 premiere of Psalmus Hungaricus\, placing this masterpiece at its c
enter. As in the first part of the series\, the film reveals this stage of
Kodály’s career through conversations between the two main characters
—actor Gábor Fekete and music academy student Róza Radnóti\, who this
time portray students of the Zoltán Kodály Hungarian Choir School—as
well as through the musical works performed in the film. At the end\, as t
he climax of the production\, the Psalmus Hungaricus is presented in its e
ntirety in concert performance\, at the very venue of its original premier
e\, the Pesti Vigadó. In addition to presenting the outstanding musical w
orks of the era\, the film also highlights Kodály’s literary sensitivit
y: his turn toward Hungarian poetry\, his own journalistic writings\, and
his relationship with Zsigmond Móricz\, including both their intellectual
and real-life encounters. The film also explores the impact of the deeply
moving historical events on Kodály’s life and works\, including his pe
rsecution\, the conflict between the Dohnányi–Bartók–Kodály trio an
d Jenő Hubay\, as well as the genesis of the Psalmus Hungaricus. The work
simultaneously reflects on the events of King David’s time described in
the psalm translation that served as its text\, and on the loss of the Fi
rst World War and the Treaty of Trianon.
