Youth Club - International Food Exchange Meetup

Come join our **Budapest Youth Club** for a fun and delicious **International Food Exchange**, where everyone brings a special dish or snack from their home country to share with others! This is your chance to introduce others to a little piece of your culture while discovering amazing food from around the world. And to make things even more exciting, we'll have a **friendly competition with voting, with a 2,000 HUF prize for the winner!** (I will give it out of my pocket, there is no cost for attending this event!) As always, this is a fantastic opportunity to **meet new people** in your age group, expand your social circle, and make genuine friendships. **Available spots are limited.** We prefer a smaller group where everyone gets to interact, share stories and culture, and get to know each other, rather than a very large gathering. **Please sign up as wait-listed even if the event is full.** If spaces open up, we'll accommodate you as soon as possible! If you're wait-listed but really interested in joining, feel free to message me personally. ### The Plan It's simple: **bring one special food from your country that you'd love others to try!** We meet in front of the [Zsolnay Fountain and Rose Garden](https://maps.app.goo.gl/X3uHM8i8dQB4NKhe9 (új lapon)) in the City Park at 1.30 PM We'll put all the dishes together and take a little culinary journey around the world. Everyone will have the opportunity to introduce their food, share a bit about its origins or cultural significance, and of course, taste what others have brought! At the end, to keep this event even more interesting, we'll have a **secret vote for everyone's favourite dish**, and the person with the most votes will get **2,000 HUF!** Don't worry if you're not a great cook! Homemade food is wonderful and preferred, but store-bought traditional snacks, sweets, or specialties from your country that are not locally available are equally welcome\*\*.\*\* This is about sharing cultures and having fun, not showing off cooking skills! ### What to Bring 1. **One special food from your country** – homemade with love (preferred) or store-bought (if you can't cook), sweet, salty, spicy, or savory - whichever is your favorite. 2. **Enough for a few (12-15) people to taste** – no need to prepare a full meal for everyone. This will not be a dinner! No need to spend a lot of money or prepare anything fancy. 3. Bring a **small note** with food name, country of origin, the ingredients, especially common *allergens (nuts, shrimps, milk etc.)*, so everyone knows what they can safely try. 4. **Serving utensils or a container** if your food needs them. 5. Tissue papers 6. **Yourself and your positive energy!** 😊 ### Rules 1. You can't vote for your own food or food from your own country of origin. 2. Everyone gets 5 points, they can spend then on one or multiple dishes as they want. Fractional points are not allowed, so you can vote for 5 dishes at max with 1 point each. 3. The voting is anonymous. 4. Multiple people can represent one dish (i.e. you can bring one dish as a team who cooked it together) Coming alone is completely normal! Most people join our meetups without knowing anyone beforehand, so don't hesitate to come by yourself. You're also welcome to bring friends or guests – just send me a quick message beforehand. We'll keep the group relatively small so everyone can get to know each other and enjoy the experience together. Even a simple childhood snack that's popular in your country can be something completely new and exciting for someone else! If you're looking for a **fun, delicious, and multicultural afternoon** with friendly young people in Budapest, we'd love to have you! **Please make sure to update your RSVP in advance if you can't attend**, so someone from the waitlist can take your spot. Participants who skip without updating their RSVP may be marked as *no-show* on the platform.
