About the exhibition: Founded in 2006\, the MOD EM Centre for Modern and Contemporary Arts is celebrating its 20th anniver sary this year. The concept of the exhibition reflects on this milestone o ccasion. Since its inception\, collaboration with Debrecen’s cultural an d educational institutions has been of central importance to MODEM. To mar k the anniversary\, we invited twenty partner organizations from Debrecen\ , with whom we have worked over the past two decades\, to select a work fr om our collection that they consider particularly significant and to provi de a short statement of up to 1\,500 characters explaining their choice. T hrough this anniversary exhibition\, we aim not only to showcase the cultu ral diversity of Debrecen but also to present a kaleidoscopic view of the artworks in our collection through the perspectives of our partner institu tions. In the second section of the exhibition\, we present works by artis ts who have been connected to MODEM in various ways\, for example through previous exhibitions\, but whose works we have not previously had the oppo rtunity to acquire for the collection.
